What are gold fillings made of and what other materials are used to make them adhere to the cavity in the toot?
Q. I am thinking of replacing some of my amalgams with gold fillings. What in addition to gold are they composed of and what material makes them 'stick' into the dental cavity as a filling?

A. You absolutely do NOT want to put gold in your mouth and you need to get rid of those Amalgam fillings. The amalgam leaks mercury vapor and damages your health. If you do NOT believe this, look at this video and then when your dentist or someone ignorant of this issue tells you they are perfectly safe, you will know what to tell them: Now watch this 5 minute video of how mercury destroys brain tissue. This study was done by a very credible school and verified by the University of Tennessee. The amount of mercury used in this study was 100 to 1,000 times less than what you get when you brush one tooth over amalgam! If you put gold in your mouth, the mercury leaves at a rate 80 times faster due to the electrolysis created. not a… [cont.]

What are some better alternatives to amalgam fillings?
Q. I've read a bit about how amalgam can be bad for you in the long-run. I've read things about Romans using lead to create their water irrigation systems, and it crippled them. The last thing I want is to do something that will cause permanent damage like these amalgam fillings. What are some better alternatives?

A. There's composite fillings but they don't last as long as amalgams. There's also inlays and onlays but they're more expensive. There's also gold fillings which are supposed to be pretty good and last a long time but they're expensive too and I don't think many dentists do them. So talk to your dentist about your concerns and see what he thinks would be best for you.

What are some good, easy to make Fillings to wrap up in Roti bread?
Q. I'm looking for some ideas to make Jamaican roti's. I found a recipe for making the flatbread wrappers. Now I need suggestions for the fillings, (preferably vegetarian), and what sort of spices would go in them? When I was in Toronto, I ate some Jamaican roti's(very delicious!!) but wasn't sure what else was in them besides the basic vegetable ingredients. If there are other kinds of roti fillings (East Indian, perhaps?) I would also be interested in those. Links to recipes would be good.

A. Usually the vegetables are carrots, sweet potatoes or potatoes, turnip, peas, but I think you should experiment with it. Don't forget the curry.
