What dessert can I prepare for a group of 12 ladies?
Q. Bunco is at my house in a few days and I'm planning the menu. I'm making a salad, chicken dish and pasta side dish. I need a good dessert to serve. Needs to be something individual (like finger food maybe?) and it has to be something I can make ahead. I don't want to be cutting cake/pie or dishing up bowls of anything - just need it to be ready on a serving plate for people to grab. Oh and no cookies please.

A. Cake Balls...I know it sounds weird. But I ran across this recipie a while ago and I think it's a cute idea. You could make them early in the day, or even the day before. You could be creative and do basic or fun cake/icing combos like carrot/cream cheese, strawberry/strawberry, yellow/chocoalte, german chocolate/coconut pecan, redvelvet/white. The basic recipie is: 1 (18.25-ounce) boxed cake mix plus ingredients called for on box 1 (16-ounce) can prepared frosting Almond Bark Coating or Confectionery Wafer Coating (both recipes follow) Bake the cake according to package instructions. While warm, crumble the cake into a bowl with a hand mixer to a fine texture. Mix in frosting to make a paste, using 3/4 to a full can of… [cont.]
