A. Normally the easier it is for you to prepare the more unhealthy it is compared to the original. Quaker oatmeal, instant or not is "a lot" better then most foods out there. They offer specific instant oatmeals for fiber, weight control, etc. Looking at the fiber instant, yhe nutrition facts are pretty healthy compared to other things you can be eating. It has 2g of total fat with .5 coming from saturated fat. You normally want to stay away from saturated fats because of their effects on the body. However oatmeal also offers the rest in poly amd monounsaturated fats which are your good essential fats you should be getting everyday to make up most of your fat intake. You are getting a good amount of carbohydrates (34)and proteins in a packet… [cont.]

A. Oatmeal is a grain, like wheat, and counts as a bread or starch in the food pyramid. What you get out of the canister is rolled oats, meaning the oat grains have been smashed flat with a metal roller.

A. They make an organic plain one that is the best from their line. A lot of pesticides and fumigants are used on non-organic oats when they are in storage silos to keep bugs from infesting them.

A. What are you trying to say? "make it"? Do you mean, do you have to cook oatmeal to use it as a mask? Oatmeal is the cooked rolled grains of the oat plant. When you buy it from the grocery store it is dry and raw. Yes, you must cook it if you want to eat it, or spread it on your face. Haven't you eaten oatmeal before? And what does this have to do with current events?

Do we need to soak old fashioned Oatmeal or Quaker oats over the night?
Q. Do we need to soak old fashioned Oatmeal or Quaker oats over the night? Some one told me that we need to soak the Quaker Oats over the night in the water ? Is it true? What will happen if we dont soak oats all the night and eat them by boiling the quaker oats in water on stove or Microwave? Please advice.
Asked by NK - Thu Jun 4 15:39:43 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. No you don't have to soak at all. Just follow directions. However, if you choose to microwave them like you would quick oats, just microwave a few seconds longer or until they look like they have absorbed the water. They will be a little "chewy" that way rather than the softer texture achieved by boiling them on the stove.

A. Here's the difference in the two: and some more than that: BTW, very good question... oats: Definition: According to a definition in Samuel Johnson's 1755 Dictionary of the English Language, oats were "a grain which in England is generally given to horses, but which in Scotland supports the people." Since oats are by far the most nutritious of the cereal grasses, it would appear that the Scots were ahead of the rest of us. Today, whole oats are still used as animal fodder. Humans don't usually consume them until after the oats have been cleaned, toasted, hulled and cleaned again, after which time they become oat groats (which still contain most of the original nutrients). Oat groats can be cooked and served as cereal, or prepared in… [cont.]

A. Which foods doesn't really matter when maintaining your weight.. It really depends on how many calories. The number of calories that you intake should equal with the amount burned. Then you'll maintain your weight. Find a daily calories intake calculator, and see how many calories help you maintain your weight. It doesn't matter what kind of food you eat as long as you burn all the calories. Just avoid fatty and sugary foods and you'll be fine. Make fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grain your friend. (-:

A. Flour, oats and barley If one of the five grains wheat, barley, rye, oats and spelt sits in water for more than 18 minutes it becomes chametz, and one may not eat, derive benefit from or own it on Pesach. In addition, Ashkenazim don t eat kitnios a group of foods which includes (among other things) rice, corn, soy and their derivatives but are allowed to own kitnios foods on Pesach. It is common practice that before wheat is ground into flour, the wheat kernels are tempered with water for many hours, and therefore flour should be treated as chametz (Mishnah Berurah 453:24). [In fact, matzah which isn t baked especially for Pesach is made from tempered wheat and should also be treated as chametz!]. Similarly, all oats are heat-trea [cont.]
